Jackson, Miss.- Jimmy Langdon, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ergon, Inc., died Friday, July 27, 2018, in a motorcycle accident. He was 54 years old.
A native of Thomastown, Mississippi, Langdon graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1987. While in college, he participated in Ergon's cooperative education internship program. Langdon began his career working as an Associate Engineer with Tenneco's Tennessee Gas Pipeline group in Houston, Texas, and joined Ergon in 1989 as a Maintenance Engineer at the company's refinery in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Langdon served in leadership positions with Ergon Refining, Inc., Ergon - West Virginia, Inc.; Corporate Engineering; Ergon Terminaling, Inc.; and Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. He was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ergon, Inc., in 2016. Langdon was a member of Ergon's Executive Management Team.

Langdon is survived by his mother, Alice Gray; sister, Donna (David) Shelley; nephew, Jacob (Rebecca) Shelley; great-nephew, Langdon Shelley; and his fiancee, Dawn Anderson, and her children, Anna and Drake Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Langdon.
Visitation will be at the Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko Monday, July 30, from 4 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 31, at 11 a.m., also at the Jordan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to Thomastown Baptist Church in Thomastown, Mississippi, the American Diabetes Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
