Krahn Chemie Expands Portfolio with Naphthenics From Ergon

Hamburg – Distributor Krahn Chemie GmbH, based in Hamburg, will begin marketing base oils from the world’s largest naphthenic producer – Ergon – throughout Germany, Austria & Switzerland effective immediately.
The base oils named Hygold® are available directly from the tank storage in Antwerp (Belgium) within short notice.
“The Hygold® base oils from Ergon are an excellent addition to our existing product portfolio of functional additives for the lubricant industry,” pointed out Guido Gerdes, the segment manager for lubricants at Krahn Chemie, “Ergon – as by far the largest producer of naphthenincs – secures the growing demand of our lubricant customers.”
“The hydrotreated Hygold® products are essential components in the production of watermiscible coolants or greases. Furthermore the brightstock with a high viscosity of 928 cST (40°C) and an ASTM-colour of 2 are an interesting alternative for dark saturated steam cylinder oils,” added Detlev Pazdzior, technical sales at Krahn Chemie.
